Omega Xl's reply to:

Omega Xl - Don't like the auto pay for a product I don't know will work

Thank you for your feedback. We regret your comment that our company is not “transparent”. We have hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers and maintain an A rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Our agents are trained to disclose the monthly autoship program as part of a customer’s initial offer. In addition, our agents are trained to seek to retain customers and to cancel an account if the customer does not desire to continue to receive our product. We monitor calls and continually educate our agents to adhere to all our policies and procedures. We also process cancellations and refunds on a timely basis.
Last, we had a system change take place in the past several months and, in certain cases, in order to track a customer; our agents need to inquire as to how a customer placed their original order. The transition for this system change should be completed shortly and it will no longer be necessary to address this question in speaking with our customers.
Please feel free to contact our Customer Advocacy Department at 1-800-607-0419 ext. 3188 to address any additional concerns.

This company is not transparent. The introductory offer sounds good of $59.90 and then the next shipment came and the bill jumped to 96.85.I wanted to cancel and the representative I spoke with immediately tried to talk me into buying something else.

I will say this, that this product OmegaXL did help with lower back pain.My recommendation is be very careful if you are thinking of purchasing this product.

Also on the cancellation they wanted to know if I purchased on line or through some other advertisement that it was a hassle because of the way I purchased it. That's what I mean when I said this Company is not transparent enough, you should be linked together regardless of how you purchased it.

Poor customer service

Due to my chronic arthritic problems, I was curious about Omega XL and tried to order by phone. During my phone conversation with the customer service agent, I tried but simply could not understand the agent due to his heavy Indian?

/ Pakistani? accent. I was very concerned in giving this guy my credit cart number.... he could not understand me nor could I understand him, so I hung up.

If this company wants to sell their product they should contract with a company whose employees can speak clear and understandable English, preferably someone from the USA !

When a company makes a product that really works, that company has no problem canceling orders and giving refunds because it knows only a small percent of customers will cancel/return. Of course, a working product will sell by word of mouth so that company will not need hundreds of infomercials.

From the reviews posted, it appears that OmegaXL advertisements are purposefully false and misleading.

I would bet Larry King knows it - watch the ad - he is squirming, rubbing his arm, looking down or away when he says it is great, holding his face - all the signs of lying.

I tried this product for 3 months. They kept pushing me to try for an extended period of time and promising they would reimburse me if it didn't help me.

The sales people are extremely pushy. Because they told me to keep trying and that they would fully credit my account if it did not work after 3 months I continued taking the pills. I was on the pills for a tendon condition in my right thumb.

They put you on hold forever, and then keep talking and talking making it impossible to get your money back. HORRIBLE customer service.

I hate those people. They must be stopped.

I have had joint pain for years and have tried many different products. I talked with a friend who is taking the OmegaXL and he really likes it , but after reading the reviews of unhappy customers and the communication problems.

It reminded me of some of the scams I have already got involved in and I can sympathize with those people who have been taken.

Was thinking of giving this product a try , but I've got enough headaches with out dealing with a bunch of double talk. Good luck to you customers in your efforts and in your pains!

I hear that this product is sold in Walmart. I'm thinking of buying a few bottles and trying it within a month.

If it doesn't work taking 2 or 3 pills a day, It's not worth it. I also like the idea of not signing up for auto pay, too much of a hassle, too much of a headache. I'm an honest person and don't like being ripped off. I have carpal tunnel from 23 years of hard labor.

If I can get relief without getting surgery ,I'm going for it.

It's 4/5/15 as of now, name is Rich. I'll be sending in a real review a few months from now, later.

I've been taking the Omega XL for several months now. The third bottle I ordered wasn't coated and the smell of fish was nasty.

I called and they did send me another bottle. These were coated but it still had an odor of fish. I ordered the 300 capsule bottle and have been taking four a day. It really hasn't helped my arthritis at all.

My cholesterol is lower but my triglycerides are still really high. I won't be ordering any more because it is quite costly.

I am going back to Icelandic omega 3 that is sold in health food stores and some drug stores. I is a good product and you never have the after taste of fish.

As we state in our advertising, it may take 6 to 12 weeks for Omega XL to be fully effective. Nutritional supplements are not pharmaceuticals and the body takes longer to absorb and utilize them. It is unfortunate that you did not simply call and cancel your order. At that time you might have been eligible for a refund.

I too, like many others, ordered this product and received my first months supply. After taking the pills for three weeks, I was called by the company to verify an auto ship of another month's supply.

On March 4, I told the rep that I was not pleased with the results and that my doctors had told me that the product was rubbish. I declined further shipments. On March 15, my debit card was hit for 96.85 by this company. I called and was told that I had to wait two months for my refund.

Essentially, she said that is how they handled cancelled customers and it was their company policy. Do not - DO NOT fall for their "lab reports" and "celebrity endorsements" It is all bogus!

I'm not going to be another pissed customer so I'm not going to order this mess! Also please let me share something with you all. Get you a prepaid card and never put over $100 dollars on it.

When you order things like this online, use the prepaid card and that way you will not have to go thru them charging your card for money you don't have. I ordered a product online last year and put in on my prepaid card and i canceled the order before the trial was up but they tried to charge my card anyway, well they could not do it because the purchase was declined so they called me to ask me for another card and I informed them that I had canceled the order before the trial ended and told them where they could go....

I do the same thing with my MASTERCARD VIRTUAL ACCOUNT NUMBERS. This is a program that you install on your computer, and when you buy something online or by phone, it generates a temporary card number that expires in 30 days unless you deactivate it before then. It's the only way I would buy a product like this, and I have used the deactivation feature several times to prevent recurring charges.

Nearing my 90 day trial, I saw my doctor for routine bloodwork and was disappointed that my bloodwork showed same, even worse numbers and I never really felt any different than before using the product.

The price also went up even on auto-ship, from $49 to $63 with shipping. I tried calling to cancel right at the 90 day deadling, which fell on a Saturday and got a voicemail stating after business hours so I called Monday and was told it's too late for refund even by a day or two- I've been ripped off by at least $200 including shipping.

I went for the commercial and ordered the product almost 90 days agao. I started using 4 a day and after a month did not notice improvement but rather the opposite. I called Omega and the lady told me to take more and charged me another $63.00 for another shipment

:? . I sent the whole thing back with a bad review note and am still waiting on my refund. Anyway, I went back to taking my regular omegas and fish oils and vitamins and I am feeling good finally again. I just called and they told me I am getting my credit of $43.00 for my first shipment when I paid $48.95 plus shipping but was told I don't get shipping credited and for me to wait and call back for my other refund! That is a bunch of crock and hassle no one should have to deal with. I think it's a scam!

Not sure why you are surprised about getting ripped off by a "christian company"? That should be the biggest clue that you are getting ready to be cheated!!

On the same channels that ask their viewers to send them money "for the Lord", to preachers donning gold chains and gold rings, wearing custom made suits costing more than most of make in a month!!! If you are a big enough sucker to watch that stuff and believe it, you should be sent all the pills you can choke down!!

@PissedConsumer621198

I noticed you said they claim to be a Christian company. I can tell you this a True Christian would not do this to anyone.

Preachers with gold and etc. If you read the Bible such as a King James. You'll notice that Jesus said, many will come claiming to be Christ or for Christ in Matt. 24:5 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray." These are what are called False Prophets.

Such as verse 11 "And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray." There are many False prophets on this earth. Easy way to spot them is a true prophet of God doesn't help man for money. Also they follow the commandments of God in other words they follow God's Laws not Man's. So if they tell you the ten commandments no longer apply they are False.

Matt 5:17 "17 Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Omega Xl - It is expensive but it did cure my arthritis and for that I am eternally grateful --

It is expensive and for many people it may be too expensive to continue to take, and maybe what you say is true but all I know is I used to have to go to the arthritis doctor every 5 months for injections in my knuckles because they would lock up and it was soooo very painful. I kept praying for a miracle and one night when I was praying, I turned on TV to a christian station and saw they talking about this product so I tried it. All I can say is thank you God, I haven't been back to the arthritis doctor in 2 1/2 years. I am telling you guys the truth. I never tried salmon oil because I cannot swallow large pills, these are easy to swallow for me so I am very grateful.

Hi everyone! I've been using the Omega XL for 3 months.

I've been having constant pain for over 30 years due to several ailments but since the use of the Omega XL the pain has lessened. It is expensive but it is worth it. You must continue to use it for the best results.

If you have a lot of pain it may take longer to take affect but gradually you will see results. I thank God for Omega XL which I first saw on the Word (Christian) network.

Come on, right now there is NO cure for RA, but eating right, exercise and taking vitamines, deleting stress, swimming, etc.

I've had it since 1993 and have done all of the above because I had juvenille RA and 10 yrs ago, I am not 10 x's worse, so I do not believe in anything put prayer. Stephanie Taylor

Omega xl is a scam. I called their 1-800 number to ask the exact ingredients, specifically what is the exact amount of the touted "PCSO-524." Read closely. The back of the bottle says

"Omega Fatty Acids containing PCSO-524

(green lipped mussel oil extract)"

A highly touted exotic miracle ingredient with no FDA evaluation is a dead giveaway of nutrition supplement scams. A well conceived scam will creatively hide the lack of true ingredients on the label; omega xl doesnt even go that far. It specifically says that each 300 mg serving "contains" PCSO-524.

When I asked their customer service exactly how many mg of PCSO-524 is contained within a 300 mg serving, they first said "Im not sure." She placed me on hold for two minutes to find out. She came back to the phone and said

"we dont have any literature or product info that says exactly how many milligrams of PCSO-524 are in a 300 mg serving, but we believe its the full 300 mg."

I reminded her that listed on the ingredients is olive oil which is a source of omega fatty acids. I told her with all due respect: youre unable to tell me exactly how much active ingredient is contained in each serving, I think you guys are putting trace amounts of actual active ingredient into an olive oil pill.

She assured me that was not the case and said its definitely all active ingredient and the olive oil was in trace amounts and for easier swallowing.

I finally got her by bringing up marketing 101. I reminded her that her product has at least 100,000 dollars of marketing behind it. She agreed that they are well-marketed.  Marketing 101: communicate bankable selling points.

There is no statement on the label, website, box, or a sales packet on the desk of their 1-800 operators that says "Pure PCSO-524."

If each capsule were pure PCSO-524, that would be by far the most important selling point. She was speechless, and she knew she was caught BS'ing me.

Don't buy it, and please quietly  inform your unassuming friends and family who approach you with this scam so they can avoid further embarrassment.

The Omega XL website does not reveal anything about the actual ingredients or research sources - the FAQ section is a joke. There is only one patented prescription Omega 3 that doctors prescribe for heart patients - and most of those heart patients could do without it if they were willing to change their diets, learn to heal relationships and manage anger, sorrow & other stressors, and exercise 5 days a week for an hour.

Omega XL might have a patent but they do not give the patent number on the site. Looks "fishy" to me. You can easily get plenty of Essential Fatty Acids from your diet if you give up junk and processed foods, start eating nuts, vegetables, and certain fishes including sardines and anchovies. Omega XL is making "too good to be true" promises and the people on the infomercial are all very large and obviously don't eat well or exercise.

They may claim joint pain and stiffness limits their ability to exercise but the fact is they could go to the local YMCA and take water aerobics for people just like them. I personally know a 93 yo woman with terrible RA who does deep water aerobics 3xweek and stretching for older people in the water 2xweek. Look up the studies on how the "placebo effect" works - that is what is happening w/the starry eyed people you meet who claim they have found the "magic bullet" for health. THERE ARE NO MAGIC BULLETS EXCEPT FOR A VERY CLEAN CAREFULLY PLANNED DIET, PORTION CONTROL AT EVERY MEAL, AND VIGOROUS EXERCISE -PERIOD.

Although many of the infomercial and multi level marketing pills and juices actually HAVE certain essential oils and anti oxidants or whatever, they are outrageously expensive and cannot deliver what they promise any better than a good diet can. At the drugstore get a bottle of fish oil on a buy one get one free and MAKE SURE it breaks down the exact amount of EPA and DHA on the back of the bottle - if it does not, don't get it, just because the capsule is 1200 mg does not mean it is 1200mg of fatty acids. Also - DO NOT EVER ever ever ever - give your bank check card number to anyone over the phone for any reason. It is the same as writing a blank check made out to "Cash" and leaving it on a busy street corner.

If you are too young or do not have good enough credit for a credit card then you have no business buying anything by phone or online. This includes airline tickets, car rentals, hotel reservations etc because they will hold a deposit against damages and can cause you to bounce a dozen checks x $30 per bounced check. Credit cards have protections if a company charges it without your permission. The check card attached to your bank account has no such protection.

You can be wiped out and your friendly local banker cannot help you. Just because your bank check card says "Visa" or "MC" on it, it is simply not a credit card. If you give it out to a company like Omega XL or any other infomercial, magazine, email etc, etc, you will regret it. Be smart.

Most infomercials over-promise and under-deliver - so do emails form companies you never heard of. They make things sound special and different which actually can be bought at the drugstore or made at home. No matter who it is you are talking to, emailing, web site ordering, etc do not give your account number, birth date, SS# etc to any one for any reason unless you know for absolute certainty who it is and why they want the info. Some people fall for it when an "official" sounding person calls them to "confirm" their address and SS#/credit card# by giving the wrong # and will actually say "No, the correct number is....." to a perfect stranger!

I can't tell you how many people, 18 yo to 88 yo on limited incomes have ended up financially ruined because they used their bank check card as if it were a credit card or gave out personal info to a scammer on the phone or email. If you have limited funds, give yourself a weekly allowance from the ATM. Limited income and Low income people (and even some higher income people) who use the bank check card to buy a $4 coffee and muffin at the convenience store every day eventually lose track and end up overdrawn and end up paying $40 for each $4 coffee after the overdraft charges. Again, the only magic bullet for health is good genes to start with coupled with self control, daily physical activity, and a smart clean diet.

Good luck! :)
