I am an 80-year old retired educator (High School Mathematics and Physics). On November 24, 2013, I caught a program featuring Larry King promoting OMEGA XL, and--willing to try the product in hopes of it alleviating my joint and bone discomfort--I became a subscriber.

I've been taking that supplement for 6 weeks now, and--contrary to the sales pitch being made by Great Healthworks--my symptoms have become noticeably more painful. OMEGA XL is also causing aggravating constipation and intense abdominal pain.

Although she came across as very courteous and very patient, the telephone sales representative employed by Great Healthworks, with whom I spoke on January 10th, would stop at nothing in an attempt to dissuade me from cancelling my order.

Judging from the HARD SELL (though courteous) method being used by Great Healthworks, and judging further from the 24-30 minute wait time I was given when put on hold, it seems to me that Great Healthworks is being nothing short of disingenuous in marketing this product.

I therefore encourage others who are in pain to carefully consider my own experience before you commit to this dietary supplement.

These OMEGA XL people are liars and crooks! I called the only phone number they give to unsubscribe from their auto-reorder program! They said I had to wait 18 minutes. That took 45 for someone to finally answer. They told me that because I signed-up on line, they could not unsubscribe me and that they would put me in touch with their "on line" group, withour having to wait a long time. These liars put me into another "hold que" that lasted over 1 hour. I am still on hold.

One pissed-off consumer.

The people from OMEGA XL are trying to hide their bad business practices.

Ordered product from larry king infomercial looking to alleviate joint and back pain had my boyfriend order as well had to call for $40.00 check. Infomercial showed Larry King take 1 pill when i got the omegaxl they suggest taking 4!

What a nightmare trying to cancel spoke with 3 different people before I got it resolved (I Hope) They all suggested I start taking 6 a day instead of 4 really!!!! Save yourself a whole lot of time and DO NOT ORDER! Plus I became constipated and went thru weeks of agony from that!

So now i have spent more & on laxatives and probiotics. Awful product!!!

I am a Holistic Nutritionist. This product has 11mg of EPA (anti-inflammatory component) of Omega 3 oil.

This would be suitable for a young child. In order to get therapeutic dosing of Omega 3 (specifically EPA) you need at least 1000mg. I suggest 2000mg to my clients. Therefore you need well over 10+ pills to get just over 100mg!

Not even close enough to the strength that fish oil provides.

Do research your source of fish oils and ensure they are contaminant free/pristine practice /processing. I wouldn't suggest this product for the money you have to pay and it's claims

listen everyone.i learned along time ago the benefits of good fish oil high in omega 3.its true that some companies don"t get all the toxins out.you have to do a little research.thats the main thing taking good fish oil.do you know that jack lalane was a pioneer in this when no one really knew the good things it does internal for health.he was heavy into cod liver oil that is high in omega 3.he knew before many.i started taking it due to inflamation of the joints.i then learned of so many other things.without changing my diet my trigs went from 180 down to 85 in six months.then six months later they were at 59.my doctor at the time didn"t want to hear about fish oil because the fda didn"t have a rip off scheme yet and there was no money to be made.of course when fish oil was getting more proof of what it could do the pharm companies came up with a drug cut with fish oil.what a load of ***! i am writing all this to educate people because natural fish oil does work with no side effects.the trick is the amount of mg.if you want to feel results in two weeks.you should from 2500 to 4000 mg a day depending on your ailments.med doctors don"t want you to know this because natural things don"t really work that well in low doses.they would rather drug your *** up so they can make their money from the drug companies.if any one is wondering i have been using carlson labs.i know for a fact all their stuff is pure with no toxins.a little pricey but worth it.a good health food store is good to but more expensive than looking on line.also fish oil fights inflamation in your artieres.a known fact.it is also a natural blood thinner.so you will take longer to clot if you get a cut.but you cannot od on it.hope you found this helpfull.

I have an arthritic wrist from a break 20 years ago, so my wife ordered me Omega XL for Christmas 2014. I followed the instructions to the letter and after three bottles, no change in the condition. I actually felt like it was giving me heartburn at times.

I called 2/9/15 to cancel. I was on hold for 15 minutes before "my best friend Ruth" picked up. She obviously zabasearched my name and began to mention where I'm from and believe or not she lived there too! Such a small world... I didn't engage in smalltalk... I called to cancel.

She was belligerent and would not accept the cancellation. I was calling to cancel the auto-ship, but she informed me of the money-back guarantee. I reacted quickly and directed the conversation down that path. Regardless of what I said she kept trying to sell me more product! I told her that I am frustrated with her and asked if she's cancelling my "subscription" or not and refunding the dollars invested. After another 5 or so minutes of sales pitches from "my personal customer care" extolling the virtues of Omega XL ("You know Larry King and many other celebrities have great results with the product" she said...Maybe if I had kept her on the phone longer, she would have told me that the same Larry King helped Sandy Koufax's arthritic shoulder with Omega XL) It's a complete BS operation.

She said that two credits would hit the credit card in 3 to 4 weeks. I suspect that I will need to call the credit card company to dispute the charges.

I've been taking the Omega XL for several months now. The third bottle I ordered wasn't coated and the smell of fish was nasty.

I called and they did send me another bottle. These were coated but it still had an odor of fish. I ordered the 300 capsule bottle and have been taking four a day. It really hasn't helped my arthritis at all.

My cholesterol is lower but my triglycerides are still really high. I won't be ordering any more because it is quite costly.

I am going back to Icelandic omega 3 that is sold in health food stores and some drug stores. I is a good product and you never have the after taste of fish.

I Just ordered Omega xl online after seeing an infomercial. After 10 minutes I realized I never check reviews on the product.

I found 100's of complaints with product, returns and repeat billing. So I decided to call and cancel. I called the main number and waiting on hold for 10 minutes. They said I would have to call another number and couldn't transfer me so I called that one.

I gave all of my information to a gentleman(I use that term loosely) he interrupted me and said I have to get you to a different department. I was put on hold for an additional 14 minutes to have the pleasure of speaking with Ruth. I told her I wanted to cancel my order and she looked up my information and said the order had been processed and shipped so I would have to send the product back and they would credit the product but not the shipping. I explained to her that I had just placed the order prier to this call and I looked up the reviews and didn't want her to ship it at all.

She said she couldn't even process the recurring charges till after 30 days. I told Ruth that I would be making a call to my credit card company and have the charges stopped at my end and she said that I would still be responsible for the shipping and handling.. Again I said RUTH! It hasn't been shipped yet.

I just placed the order! She proceeded to tell me that she had been using the product for 3 years and how well it worked for her. She wanted to know my reasons for returning it. I reminded her of their "No questions asked" return policy and she continued to tell me the benefits of the Snake oil.

An how I would be happier if I left the recurring billing in place because any interruption in the use of the product would result in unwanted results. I again told her there will be no interruption because I don't want to try it at all. These people are crazy. High pressure Snake Oil of century salespeople.

After 15 minutes going round and round she said she would see if her supervisor could go to the warehouse and pull the shipment so I wouldn't be charged. Really? This is all I wanted in the first place and your no questions asked return policy just cost me 45 wasted minutes on hold and the phone. Shame on Larry King for endorsing such a product.

I have a know new view of Celebrity endorsed products. Never Again!

My labs have improved drastically

I must say I was very leary when I ordered the Omega XL. My bad cholesterol (LDL) had gotten extremely high, and my good cholesterol (HDL) continued to drop lower and lower, almost off the charts, and my triglycerides were climbing by the day to a really high level, even with taking Rx cholesterol and triclyceride medications and Fish Oil or Kril Oil.

I just thought, "What do I have to lose? After all, it has a money back guarantee." I too, was very upset when I got the first shipment and it recommended to take 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM for the first month ) (I don't think that was mentioned in the infomercial) and 1 in the AM and 1 in the PM after that, but I was determined to give it a try. MAN, AM I GLAD I DID!!! I have had an issues with my levels for years now and nothing seemed to work.

At one time, I was on 6 fish oils a day and Prevastatin and Welchol (which is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE - even with insurance. When my Rx discount card for Welchol ran out, I told my Dr. I could no longer afford that and that is when she suggested the Kril Oil, since it was supposed to be better than the fish oil and taking 4-6 Fish Oil a day was just more than I could tolerate.) I had my labs drawn a few months after starting the Omega XL, not really expecting to see much difference, and man was I SHOCKED!. I wish I could attach my graphs from my past levels.

All of my levels are now within totally NORMAL RANGES and my good cholesterol has risen so much it is now almost over the normal range. I can't say enough good things about it. I continue to take 1 pill morning and night and will continue to do so. My husband has issues as well, but we wanted to see what results I had before he started taking it as well.

After my results, he is now going to start on it as well.

Can't say that I've really seen a lot of difference with joint pain, but my numbers are temendously improved.

I tried this product for 3 months. They kept pushing me to try for an extended period of time and promising they would reimburse me if it didn't help me.

The sales people are extremely pushy. Because they told me to keep trying and that they would fully credit my account if it did not work after 3 months I continued taking the pills. I was on the pills for a tendon condition in my right thumb.

They put you on hold forever, and then keep talking and talking making it impossible to get your money back. HORRIBLE customer service.

I hate those people. They must be stopped.
